Celebrating 10,000 students served: Mission Bit’s 2024 Annual Report

At Mission Bit, we believe that computer science education should be accessible to all students, regardless of their background. As we look back on the past year, we’re excited to share our 2024 Annual Report, highlighting our progress, impact, and the road ahead.

Empowering the next generation of tech leaders

In 2024, we reached a significant milestone: 10,000 students served through our computer science programs. Our mission to close the tech education gap and provide underrepresented students with the tools they need to succeed continues to drive everything we do.

Key highlights from our 2024 Annual Report

  • 10,000+ students served across all programs to-date
  • 52% growth in Explore Code Academy students served
  • Growth in our Instructor Training Program to enhance teaching quality
  • Strengthening of our Student Ambassador Board and Alumni Network to foster leadership and career pathways
  • New partnerships with local schools and tech industry leaders to create more opportunities for students

How we’re making a difference

At Mission Bit, our programs provide free, high-quality coding education to students who lack access to traditional tech training. Through our hands-on approach, we focus on project-based learning, mentorship, and real-world applications to ensure our students gain the skills needed to thrive in the digital world.

Why is this important?

  • The demand for tech talent continues to grow, yet students from underrepresented communities often lack exposure to coding.
  • Diversity in tech starts with education—our programs bridge the gap by offering accessible and engaging learning experiences.
  • By investing in instructor training and community engagement, we’re shaping the future of computer science education.

Looking ahead to 2025

While we celebrate this year’s achievements, we recognize that there’s more work to be done. In 2025, we plan to:

  • Expand our partnerships with schools and industry professionals
  • Launch new curriculum enhancements to meet evolving tech industry demands
  • Provide more hands-on learning experiences to increase student engagement
  • Continue advocating for equity in computer science education
