Mission Bit awarded $20,000 Adobe grant to expand access to computer science education

San Francisco, California — September 2025 — Adobe is investing in the next generation of San Francisco tech leaders. Mission Bit has been awarded a $20,000 grant through Adobe’s 2025 Employee Community Fund program, funding free, high-quality computer science programming that opens doors for local students interested in tech.

Adobe has been a valued partner to Mission Bit, from hosting students for an Adobe Express workshop and office tour this summer to helping showcase their creativity at the Spring 2025 Demo Day. Adobe Express has also been integrated into Mission Bit’s Digital Innovation Academy (DIA), a credited, in-school program that brings computer science directly into the SFUSD school day. In DIA, students earn high school credit while gaining real-world technical skills — expanding access to tech education for youth who may not be able to attend after-school programs.

Thanks to Adobe, students now use AI-powered image generation in Adobe Express to jump-start their creative process. By generating a range of ideas, students can pick and choose elements they like, then refine them into custom visuals for their websites. Along with branding kits, templates, and design tools, this gives students the confidence to bring their ideas to life in a professional way.

“Mission Bit is truly grateful for Adobe’s generous support through this grant. Partnerships like this make it possible for us to expand access to computer science education and ensure that students not only learn critical technical skills but also see themselves reflected in the tech industry. Adobe’s commitment empowers us to continue breaking down barriers and creating pathways for the next generation of innovators.” Christina Ortega, President & CEO, Mission Bit

This grant was made possible thanks to Adobe champion Jake Guida, a longtime Mission Bit volunteer and past instructor, who invited the organization to apply, as well as the broader Adobe team for their ongoing advocacy and support. This contribution underscores Adobe’s commitment to empowering underrepresented communities through creativity and technology. Together, Mission Bit and Adobe are building pathways for youth to imagine, create, and thrive in tech.
