Matched gifts allow Mission Bit to:

  • Reach more students with free programming — Every additional dollar helps us offer more classes, mentors, and community-building experiences.

  • Support an equitable tech pipeline — Matching gifts strengthen our ability to open doors for youth who deserve access to high-quality tech education, no matter their zip code.

  • Invest in the present while preparing for the future —  Your support helps us nurture confidence, creativity, and career readiness in ways that are meaningful today and flexible for whatever the future of tech becomes.

Matching gifts turn individual generosity into collective impact, helping Mission Bit empower young innovators and create a more inclusive future in tech.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a matching gift?

A matching gift is a simple way to multiply the impact of your donation at no extra cost to you. Many employers offer programs that match the charitable contributions their employees make. When you donate to Mission Bit and submit a quick request through your company’s matching gift portal, your employer donates the same amount (and sometimes even more!).

It is one small step that can turn one gift into two, creating more opportunities for Bay Area high schoolers to explore computer science, build confidence, and discover what is possible for their future.

Will my company match my gift?

You can check if your employer matches donations by visiting your employer’s intranet or by searching for your company on our matching gifts page.

How do I submit an employer match?

Submitting an employer match is quick and easy. Most companies handle the process through an online portal. Here is how to get started:

  1. Make your donation to Mission Bit.

  2. Visit your company’s matching gift portal. You can find it on your employer’s intranet or by searching for your company on our matching gifts page.

  3. Submit a match request. This often includes your name, the amount you donated, and our information.

  4. Your employer reviews and confirms your gift.

  5. Mission Bit receives the matching contribution.

My employer wasn’t listed, can my donation still be matched?

Possibly! We recommend contacting your HR department to find out if your company matches your charitable donations. If they do, let us know!

What if my employer wants to get involved in another way?

If your employer is interested in supporting Mission Bit beyond matching gifts, we welcome it. Many companies partner with us through volunteer opportunities, sponsorships, or by offering career exploration experiences for our students. We are always excited to connect with organizations that want to help create more equitable pathways into tech.

Your employer can reach out to our team at development@missionbit.org.
