About this class

Come and learn AI with us this semester! We’ll start with the basics of how AI works and build up to creating your very own websites and apps – no prior experience needed. Together, we’ll work on hands-on projects, think critically about AI’s role in the world, and finish the semester by showcasing an original AI-powered product at Demo Day. Beginners are welcome!

    What you’ll learn

    Prompting and AI fundamentals

You’ll get a solid foundation in what AI actually is and how it works under the hood. Learn how to write effective prompts that get you better results, and build the core skills you’ll use throughout the entire course.

    Critical thinking with AI

AI is powerful, but it isn’t perfect. You’ll learn how to evaluate AI outputs, spot mistakes and bias, and understand where AI falls short. These skills will make you a smarter, more responsible AI user.

    AI model training

Go beyond just using AI tools and start understanding what’s happening behind the scenes. You’ll explore how AI models are trained, how they make decisions, and why they sometimes get things wrong.

    Skills you’ll gain

    Problem solving
    AI proficiency

    All in the details.

Get ready to embark on an exciting journey into the world of Artificial Intelligence – where you’ll go from total beginner to building your very own AI-powered apps and websites. In this class, we’ll start from the ground up and guide you through everything you need to know to understand, use, and think critically about AI.

In the first part of the course, you’ll jump straight into building with AI tools. You’ll learn how to turn your ideas into real websites and applications using natural language – no prior experience needed. Alongside that, you’ll get a solid understanding of what AI actually is, how it works, and how to write effective prompts that get you the results you’re looking for. Through hands-on projects, you’ll quickly build confidence and start creating things you’re proud of.

Next, we’ll zoom out and explore AI in the bigger picture. You’ll discover how AI is already being used across industries like healthcare, business, and education, and how professionals are applying it in their everyday work. You’ll also develop a critical eye – learning how to evaluate AI outputs, identify errors and bias, and understand the real limitations of these powerful tools. These skills will make you a smarter, more responsible AI user in any field.

In the final part of the course, you’ll go deeper under the hood to understand how AI models are actually trained and how they make decisions. Then, you’ll put everything you’ve learned to the test in a collaborative final project – teaming up with classmates to design and build an original AI-powered product from scratch and presenting it to a live audience at our end-of-semester Demo Day.

By the end of this class, you’ll have a strong foundation in AI fundamentals, hands-on building experience, and the critical thinking skills to use AI responsibly and effectively. Whether you’re curious about technology, interested in a future career, or just want to see what’s possible – join us and discover what you can create with AI!
